Man City defender Kyle Walker apologized for reportedly paying 2 sex workers to go to his house the day before he urged people to remain indoor “following the protocols” during the pandemic.
The 29 yr old is facing possible discipline by the club after the incident was reported by the Sun.
“I want to require this chance to issue a public apology for the alternatives I made last week which have resulted during a story today about my private life in a tabloid news media,” he said during a statement to the Sun. “I understand that my position as knowledgeable footballer brings the responsibility of being a role model. As such, i would like to apologize to my family, friends, football club, supporters and also the public for letting them down.
“There are heroes out there making an important difference to society at the instant , and that i are keen to assist support and highlight their amazing sacrifices and life-saving work over the past week. My actions during this matter are in contrast to what I should are doing regarding the lockdown. And I want to reiterate the msg: Stay home, stay safe.”
Louise McNamara, 21, told the newspaper she and a 24-year-old Brazilian woman were called March 24 to Walker’s house outside Man city. He and another man agreed to pay the ladies around $2.7 thousands for the services.
The day after the incident, Walker urged his 1.7 million social media fans on Instagram to “stay home, keep washing your hands, keep following the protocols.
