Manchester United are ready to welcome Coutinho signing of £240,000 a week

Man Utd have been linked with former Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho for quite some time and as per latest reports, they remain interested in hiring his services.

According to Sport, Man Utd are ready to welcome the signing of the Brazilian star on loan but they face competition from other English clubs like Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton, who are also looking to secure his signature.

The Spanish source have claimed that the Catalan giants cannot sell the Samba star for less than 90 million euros this summer. It is stated that the reigning La Liga champions would allow him to leave on loan but only with a compulsory purchase option of little more than 65 million euros.

The Brazilian had a torrid first full season with Barca and the Spanish side opted to loan him out to Bayern Munich last summer. Unfortunately, the South American playmaker has not been able to perform at his best in Germany as well and perhaps a return to Premier League would be fruitful for him.

In England, the former Inter Milan attacker was brilliant for Liverpool. He was one of the most important players at Anfield in the 2017-18 campaign but opted to leave the Merseysiders to join Barcelona in the middle of the season. Since then, he has struggled big time.

After selling him, the Reds won the Champions League last term and were on the verge of Premier League glory this season before the competition was suspended due to to COVID-19 pandemic.

The £240,000-a-week playmaker (Mirror Sport) can effectively play in multiple offensive positions but naturally, he is a CAM and that position is currently occupied by Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford.

So, Man Utd really do not really need another central attacking midfielder at the moment and must focus on improving their wide attacking positions. Also, I do not think that Coutinho will forever ruin his relation with the Anfield club by joining the Red Devils.
